FAQs

What should I wear?
Good footwear is most important, a solid pair of shoots or boots. Make sure you have warm clothing and a wind / waterproof due to Taranaki's occasional habit of delivering 4 seasons in one day.

Do I need to bring food?
Snacks are provided while lunch is provided for full day treks. Lunch normally consists of BBQ food cooked at our original bushmans Whare (hut). You may wish to bring a water bottle to keep hydrated between breaks.

Do any of your horses bolt?
These are the quietest horses you will ever ride and are well known locally for their quiet behavior. You would have to do something serious to raise any alarm bells.

Will we get to drive cattle?
This depends on whether there is stock work to be done. We don't normally work cattle every time we ride otherwise our cows would be built like race horses. But if cow racing ever takes off, we may be on to something...

What is the local Cafe like!

Mud Bay is an excellent place to unwind, whether dropping in for a coffee or dinner at the end of a full day ride.
